'Our Lady of Mount Carmel'

Prayer

     O beautiful Flower of Carmel, most fruitful vine, Splendor of Heaven, holy and singular, who brought forth the Son of God, still ever remaining a Pure Virgin, assist me in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help and protect me! Show me that Thou are my Mother.

O Mary, Conceived without sin, Pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Mother and Ornament of Carmel, Pray for us!
Virgin, Flower of Carmel, Pray for us!
Partroness of all who wear the Scapular. Pray for us!
Hope of all who die wearing the Scapular, Pray for us!
St. Joseph, Friend of the Sacred heart, Pray for us!
St. Joseph, Chaste Spouse of Mary, Pray for us!
St. Joseph, Our Patron, Pray for us!
O Sweet Heart of Mary, Be our Salvation!

Please stop by the N2God Store today if you can brave the very hot temp! Today friends and I are celebrating Our Lady of Mount Carmel. I have something 'special' for you. Can you guess what? BSOL (big smile out loud)
 ~~~
From a pamphlet from an organization called 'The Blue Army of Our Lady'-
Attach great importance to your Brown Scapular of Our Lady.
Our Lady gave her Scapular as a sign of salvation, a protection in danger, and a pledge of peace. The cloth Scapular must be born over the shoulders, one piece in front, one in back.
For 700+ years devout Catholics have worn the Scapular, the Popes have approved and indulgenced its wears, miracles have proclaimed its power.
Scapular-wearers share in the daily prayers of the Carmelite Order and the world-wide good works of the Scapular Confraternity.
A Prayer for July -William Penn (1644-1718)
O Lord,
help me not to despise
or oppose
what I do not understand.
-William Penn (1644-1718)
A Quaker and outspoken defender of religious freedom; William Penn was repeatedly imprisoned in England for his beliefs. When he received a grant of land in America as payment for a dept King Charles II owed his father, Penn sailed to the New World, where he sought to start a refuge for the religiously persecuted. His plan was for the settlers to be guided by the Sermon on the Mount. The colony, founded in 1681, was called Pennsylvania ("Penn's Woods") in honor of his father.
Whirl winds and the River Festival fun!
Three blocks in this direction is the Little Arkansas River,
where all the Festival fun is staged.
When you see a red heart apron hanging on the front door...2nd Street.
You've found me.
A few days ago, more dresses were added.
They are unique!
You may have noticed...the shelves are full of interesting finds.
My husband was awesome, fixing an old phone. I will try to add a photo of it sometime soon.
 Are you having a fantastic summertime? Lately life in Kansas has been like a whirlwind for me. Yesterday was the 13th day for the N2God Store to be open. We are open most Saturdays and business is beginning to pick up...a little. We are very thankful for everyone that visits the store. Our location is a little hard to find and I'm delighted when people return to take that 2nd look at an item or just want to visit. I've had some inspiring conversations about faith. I love this! I believe we have much to learn from one another and the N2God Store welcomes all faiths. There will always be diversity.  There are wonderful blessings for those who take time to embrace differences for others with kindness and understanding.
The Wichita River Festival began on Friday June 3rd. That fun is only three blocks East of the N2God Store. I created the paper flag to hang in front of the store. I'm not sure how long it will last...it is so pretty. We sat out heavy items that would stay anchored. Whirl winds...oh yeah! Some real nice people stopped in, a few to just cool off. I got a kick when I learned the festival offered a 'Toddler Run' for one of the events and it was going on this particular Saturday. Families together having a good time, that's what Saturdays were made for.
Some weeks back I decided to hang some 'Vintage' and dated dresses in the East window. Nothing was happening there. It has created some interest as I'm pairing the outfits up with shoes and 'Vintage' jewelry that was tucked away. Yesterday, after hours I worked hard with the window dresses...cleaning and chasing the cob webs trying to make their homes in those very hard to reach places. Old buildings can really be a pain as the plastered walls 'left unpainted' continue to deteriorate...I sweep up the sand on a regular basis.
My biggest effort was preparing the wedding dress to rehang. Last week I bought a wonderful 'brand new' 'huge ballroom?' dress slip at my favorite elite store. It is more that perfect for the wedding gown. What a deal it was $2.98. I don't like saying it but I will...what a deal, what a steal. The wedding dress is now a dreamy display. The tinkle lights...maybe added later. Something worth waiting for I promise! The wedding dress has caught the eye of one of my friends...we'll see.
Hope you have a great weekend! If you're in town...stop by for a cup of tea.
If we were more willing to see the good and the beautiful things that surround us...
'We too often focus only on the negative aspect of life. If we were more willing to see the good and the beautiful things that surround us, we would be able to transform our families. From there, we would change our next-door neighbors and then others who live in our neighborhood or city. We would be able to bring peace and love to our world which hungers so much for these things.'
